It's been a while since I blogged. Not a whole lot going on the last week, just hanging out, getting my knee back into shape. Gives a person too much time to think, especially once you are sick with watching TV. I'm not a very patient person, especially when it comes to waiting for an injury to heal. One look on the internet and I'm right on track, unfortuneately it's a 2-3 month track. Those that know me, know that I'm by no means a skinny guy, quite opposite as a matter of fact, but my butt is really getting sore! I was thinking about picking up one of the horseshoe pillows...LOL!
It's been a while since I've been able to take the boys to the woods for a little hunting and bonding. I never thought this recovery was going to be this long or I would have waited until after the hunting season. You know, that time when hunting ends and ice fishing begins. What? You don't ice fish? There is not much more exciting than driving your truck onto the ice, to your ice shanty and spending the day out on the water..err..ice. My mom always refer to my ice shanty as my ice condo. So what if it has heat, an oven, stove top! By the way, it has 3 lights and outlet to plug the TV into...LOL! If I forget my fishing gear, who cares!
It's been a while since....forget it. This weekend Brandon will have the opportunity to hopefully harvest a trophy during the Wisconsin Deer Hunt. If he does get lucky, he will learn that turning 13 comes with many privilages, like gutting his own deer and dragging that sucker out of the woods. I can't do it, so now is is time! Maybe he will harvest two! Maybe he won't want to after the work of the first one!
That's all folks....TTYL!

Very cool, Mark. I wish I was in the area so I could pester you for deer meat. I've been trying to eat pasture-fed, organic meat and deer is the ultimate in that! You don't get more natural than a wild animal that's been grazing...
ReplyDeleteI'm way too much of a wuss for hunting, though. I'd have to trade you gardening help or something for deer meat!! I wish I was pals with a hunter out in this area - one of my clients hunts a lot and sometimes will give me some frozen meat as a gift. Last week we barbecued up some deer kebabs and they were very good.
The ice fishing thing is a whole new world for me as well.... wow!!!
